A national assembly.
It is the permanent location of the National Assembly and the largest building in the country. It emerges from the banks of the Danube and has its main entrance on Kossuth Square.
The construction of this set of neo-Gothic buildings took place between 1884–1904 and was designed by the architect Imre Steindl. The structure is composed of 691 rooms, measures 268 metres in length with a dome that is 96 metres high.
It has become the national parliament building since 2000. The coronation takes place here and King St. Stephen's crown, sceptre, royal orb and renaissance sword are on view to the public during the ceremony.
